A total of 595 professional soldiers were deployed to help fight the coronavirus pandemic on Wednesday, said Defence Minister Jaroslav Nad (OLaNO) before the Government session.
Some 400 soldiers are helping out in hospitals and about 150 at regional public health offices, while the rest are assisting the Police Corps, said the minister.
"We're currently focusing on hospitals, as there's a huge level of demand there, but there's no problem with increasing the number of soldiers in favour of the Police Corps, either," explained Nad, adding that the number of deployed soldiers is updated every day based on need.
