Despite rising energy prices across Europe, increase in energy prices will be much more modest in Slovakia than in the Czech Republic or Austria. Slovakia's Regulatory Office for Network Industries (URSO) said this after comparing the regulated prices offered to households in neighbouring countries with those of Slovakia. According to the Slovak regulatory authority's calculations, a Slovak household with an average annual electricity consumption of 2.2 megawatt hours should pay a total of some €197 for the supply of electricity next year. The same Austrian household should pay €321 and a household in the Czech Republic it is €400. Next year, the price of electricity for Slovak households will thus increase by some €4 a month, for households in Austria the hike is almost €11, while Czech households will pay by over €13 more for electricity.
