Slovak citizens can use the New Shepard rocket to send postcards into space, Matej Poliacek of the Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC) announced on Monday. Upon landing back on Earth, the postcards will be marked with a stamp 'Flown into Space' and sent back to those who posted them in Slovakia. The Space Post initiative will run until February 6, 2022 or until capacity is exhausted, said Poliacek.
Instructions are published on the website spacegeneration.org/vesmirna-posta. SGAC members are in charge of the Space Post's logistics in Slovakia in cooperation with the industrial component of the Slovak Space Office, which is managing the sending of the postcards to the US foundation. The Slovak Space Office was set up as a joint project of the SARIO agency and the Education, Science, Research and Sport Ministry.
