Slovakia has joined a large raid against human trafficking, Police Corps spokesperson Michal Slivka announced on Monday. As he added, the action was focused on sexual exploitation, forced begging and forced criminal activities. The police checked 153 people in the territory of the Slovak Republic including 87 foreigners, most of them from Ukraine, Thailand and Vietnam. Slivka said that the raids were performed at the beginning of November under the guidance of Europol and Frontex. “In case anyone has information on a possible victim of human trafficking, you can contact our free national helpline for such victims, 0800 800 818,” added Slivka. So far this year, the police have charged people in 16 similar cases in Slovakia.
