The National Bank of Slovakia (NBS) expects Slovakia’s economy to grow 2.4 percent this year. In its latest prognosis the central bank did not change the estimate of this year’s economic growth from its previous prediction. Next year, the central bank forecasts economic growth acceleration to 3.2 percent and in 2016 it should be 3.5 percent.
In the previous prognosis from March the central bank predicted growth of 3.3 percent for 2015 and of 3.5 percent for 2016. “Compared with the previous prediction the level of the domestic part of economy was re-evaluated towards better development,” the Governor of the National Bank of Slovakia, Jozef Makuch, commented on the published figures.
