The governing coalition has come to an agreement regarding Finance Minister Igor Matovic’s (OLaNO) proposal to give the elderly €500 vouchers to spend on the services of pandemic-affected businesses as a reward for having themselves vaccinated against COVID-19, with the Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) party opting to neither support nor veto the bill.
SaS caucus head Anna Zemanova claimed that her party won’t consider it a violation of the coalition agreement if the proposal is approved in Parliament with the opposition’s support.
The proposal, however, will first be addressed by the Government on Wednesday before it’s passed to the House. Several coalition representatives estimated that the bill could be passed to its second reading in Parliament by the end of the week.
