Justice Minister Maria Kolikova claimed on Monday that she can imagine a discussion on mandatory vaccination against COVID-19 for everyone over 12 years of age.
"I personally advocate mandatory vaccination. I think that the time has come, gradually. It’s absolutely legitimate to address other groups than professions that are essential for the functioning of the state," said Kolikova. If mandatory vaccination for a certain age were introduced, it would be necessary to consider the age threshold carefully. In her opinion, setting this at 12 years of age would be somewhat easier from the legal point of view.
Nevertheless, Kolikova remarked that this is her personal opinion and that the Freedom and Solidarity party, in which she operates, is still discussing the matter.
