Companies are not sampling sites and they simply cannot organize Covid testing, the Association of Industrial Unions and Transportation said in response to testing having begun in companies. It points out that companies have reported problems with mandatory testing of unvaccinated employees and those who did not overcome the disease. They are primarily dealing with a shortage of antigen tests.
“Industrial companies have been established for industrial production, not testing of employees. Hence, we repeatedly say that everyone should do what they can. A company where 2,000 workers come to the working shift cannot operatively and quickly perform testing without affecting the production,” the association warns.
Companies also complain that they lack so-called authorized persons who should oversee the testing process. Other issues concern complications regarding payments for the tests and connected taxes.
Meanwhile, the chairman of the Parliamentary Economic Affairs Committee, Peter Kremsky (OLaNO), has convened a working meeting for Wednesday, December 1, with the heads of employers' organizations, to which he also invited the ministers of economy and health, the Chief Public Health Officer and the head of the Slovak Association of Towns and Municipalities. Together, they will try to find an employee testing model that works, is manageable for both employers and employees, and effectively prevents the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
