Economy Minister Tomas Malatinský has not yet been officially informed about an intention of the Italian group Enel to sell its 66-% stake in Slovenske Elektrarne (SE). He thus addressed the rumour that the largest power producer in Slovakia, Slovenske Elektrarne, could be up for grabs.
Minister Malatinský claims the only information he has is that the Italian group has placed Slovenske Elektrarne among the portfolio of companies that could be sold. Malatinský added that the portfolio comprises companies worth €11 billion, while their ambition is to sell assets worth €4 billion. He went on to say that unofficially, several potential buyers of the dominant Slovak power producer have been mentioned. The minister is meeting Enel representatives next week.
