Slovakia at COP26 joins the initiative to stop using coal

Slovakia and dozens of other countries participating in the UN climate summit (COP26) in Glasgow, Scotland, joined the initiative to stop using coal. However, the initiative lacks the signatures of major polluters such as China, India and the USA. Slovakia plans to end coal mining by 2023, the press department of the Slovak Ministry of the Environment reported. The conclusions of the climate conference, according to the Environment ministry, are to reduce emissions by at least 30 percent before 2030, to stop the deforestation of the planet, and to confirm Europe's position as a world leader in the fight against the climate crisis.
