PM calls on unvaccinated to consult inoculation with their doctors

Slovak Prime Minister Eduard Heger called on unvaccinated people to consult their doctor and, if they can, to get vaccinated against COVID-19, following the Cabinet session on Wednesday. The PM also called on people to act responsibly pointing out that the epidemiological situation in Slovakia is serious. Justice Minister Maria Kolíková joined him in the call on the unvaccinated.

Health Minister Vladimír Lengvarský emphasised the dominant share of the unvaccinated in the number of patients with confirmed COVID-19. "Given our statistics, we still have 700,000 people over the age of 50 who are unvaccinated, a fact that can have fatal consequences for the spread of coronavirus," he said.

As of next Monday, 52 out of 79 Slovak districts will be considered ‘black’ according to the COVID-19 automaton.
