Only 40% of Slovaks worried about reliance on Russian gas

More than 60 percent of Slovaks seem to be more or less unfazed by the fact that Slovakia is dependent on gas supplies from Russia, according to the results of a survey done among clients by energy-supplier Slovakia Energy.

The company point to the fact that about 95% of gas consumed by households in Slovakia is imported from Russia. If the long-drawn-out conflict between Russia and Ukraine resulted in long-term cut-offs of natural gas and oil, the consequences of this would also affect Slovak consumers, mainly during the winter season.
