Health Ministry State Secretary Kamil Szaz reported on Tuesday that patients with COVID-19 in Slovakia can now receive a monoclonal antibody combination therapy, adding that the treatment should be available in 36 health centres as of Wednesday.
Szaz explained that the combination of monoclonal antibodies alleviates symptoms and the severe course of the disease. The target group is at-risk patients, especially those over 65 years of age or those with severe chronic illnesses.
At the same time, patients will be able to receive the therapy regardless of whether or not they have been vaccinated against COVID-19. It’s intended for patients who have been exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms for no more than ten days.
The price of the treatment has been set at approximately €1,100.
