The growth in the price of houses and flats has returned to the average of recent years according to the analysts from the currency, statistics and research department of Slovakia's central bank in a brief report. They calculated that in the third quarter of this year, the asking price of houses and flats increased by 3.4 percent compared to the previous quarter with the largest increases in the Trnava and Banska Bystrica regions. The cost of houses and flats in the third quarter of this year is 18.4 percent higher than a year earlier. Houses are increasing in price faster than flats. The average price of residential property increased by €70 for one square metre (m2), reaching €2,122 per square metre. The average price of flats rose to €2,362 per m2, representing a rise of 2.9 percent since the previous quarter and 15.1 percent since the previous year. "The fastest growing prices are for two- and four-room flats, while the price of five-room flats is growing least," stated the analysts.
