Copies of passports of Slovak delegates at Expo 2020 leaked

Copies of passports of Slovak delegates to Expo 2020 Dubai were leaked to the internet on Wednesday. The leak showed Economy Minister Richard Sulik’s daughter in the delegation. Reacting on Thursday, the Economy Ministry stated on Thursday that Alexandra Sulikova paid for her trip out of her own resources and that she made use of the opportunity to attend the fair during a week dedicated to the area of energy because she is a lawyer dealing with energy law. As Sulik said he would never dare spend state money on such a purpose. “We had such wise-guys in the government previously, and we reproached them for this,” remarked Economy Minister. He further explained he was pleased with his daughter’s interest because “I don’t get to see my children very often. That's why I agreed with her participation, so that we could combine work with family time,” said Sulik, adding that the two of them didn’t stay in the same hotel as the rest of the delegation, as they booked private accommodation with their own money.

The copied passports were leaked on the internet on Wednesday evening, when they were made available for download on a public website for uploading and downloading files. According to what has been reported in the media, the delegation included private entrepreneurs, employees of state institutions and journalists, among others. The leaked file has been deleted in the meantime.
Economy Ministry spokeswoman Katarina Matejkova has stated that the ministry is investigating the leak and will contact law enforcement if it discovers any illegal conduct.
