Following a drop in the first two days of November, the volume of Russian natural gas passing through the territory of Slovakia has returned to its October level, according to information published by gas transport operator Eustream. On Wednesday, 67 million cubic metres of gas are scheduled to transit via Slovakia, with 73 million cubic metres due to flow through the country on Thursday (November 4).
The transport of Russian natural gas to Europe made headlines due to a delay in supplies via the northern Yamal gas pipeline at the weekend. The pipeline mainly supplies Germany via Belarus and Poland. Gas supplies via Ukraine and Slovakia, measured in the town Velke Kapusany (Kosice region), went down significantly in the first two days of November, from the average October level of 74 million cubic metres to 42 and 49 million cubic metres respectively. Less than 14 million cubic metres of the transported gas currently remains in Slovakia.
