At his meeting with his Serbian counterpart Nikola Selakovic on Thursday, the chief of Slovak diplomacy Ivan Korcok (SaS nominee) praised intense political ties between Slovakia and Serbia that have undergone a transformation into economic cooperation recently.
Korcok thanked Selakovic for the continuing support that the Government in Belgrade has been showing to the Slovak ethnic minority in Serbia. "The minister informed me that the naive art of Kovacica will be put on the list of UNESCO cultural heritage," he added.
Korcok reiterated that Slovakia is a staunch supporter of Serbia's aspirations to join the EU, and he asked Belgrade to continue carrying out the necessary reforms. Recent events in northern Kosovo have demonstrated the "importance of dialogue" between Belgrade and Pristina and the need to avoid unilateral decisions that could prove counterproductive to efforts to resolve the dispute, said Korcok.
