Slovak Defence Minister Jaroslav Nad reported on Thursday following his talks with US Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin in the Pentagon that Slovakia and the USA would continue to prepare a mutual defence cooperation agreement.
“We believe that we will soon reach an agreement on wording that will be fully in line with Slovak law and constitutional rules, while at the same time reflecting Slovakia's primary needs in the area of defence and security,” stated Nad, adding that an expert group dedicated to issues concerning defence cooperation could be set up.
Nad conceded following the talks that he is content with the result of the meeting, announcing that he invited Austin to Slovakia.
