Smer-SD MPs on Thursday delivered to President Zuzana Caputova two questions that the party would like to ask people in a referendum on a snap general election, Smer head Robert Fico reported on the same day. According to Fico, Smer-SD wants the president to examine the questions and announce whether she would challenge them at the Constitutional Court if the party managed to collect enough signatures to trigger a referendum. In Smer’s opinion, an early election is the only way “to lead Slovakia out of a deep crisis”.
