Over 66,000 Booster shots against COVID-19 given past week

Third booster shots of COVID-19 vaccine were administered in 66,304 cases in Slovakia between October 19-26, said Health Minister Vladimir Lengvarský. A total of 8,822 people are currently waiting for this dose of the vaccine. The vaccinations are being carried out at 98 sites, including seven large-capacity vaccination centres, 16 outpatient clinics and 75 hospitals. The Health Ministry wants to give preference to older people when it comes to third-dose vaccination, but Lengvarský would also like to know how many people are interested in order to help the ministry prepare to give booster shots to younger people. According to him, the system should be set up in a way that will allow all interested people to be vaccinated as soon as possible.
