Two former coalition MPs to vote for Hospital reform

The hospital reform will receive support from independent lawmakers Miroslav Kollár and Tomáš Valášek, who both left the coalition in the recent months. Both MPs concurred that the reform is necessary in order to improve the quality of the health system in Slovakia. They denounce the stance of coalition's 'We Are Family' party which calls it the reform "against the interests of the people". The reform is based on the rationalisation of the current network of hospitals. As a result, hospitals would change their status. The health ministry states that no hospitals should be closed.

Valášek pointed out that the coalition has plenty of votes at its disposal to pass the reform even without this party. The MP voiced his understanding for concerns about hospitals being shut down. He pointed out that many travel to visit better doctors to more distant hospitals already as it is, however.
