Terms under which Slovakia will contribute to the UNFICYP mission in Cyprus are to be governed by two new memorandums. The documents were signed in New York by Slovak Defence Minister Jaroslav Nad (OLaNO) and UN Under Secretary General for Operational Support Atul Khare on Monday. "These offer more granular details of the participation of our soldiers in Cyprus. It was important to do so because the reality on the ground didn't reflect legal documents, which should have been updated long ago," explained the minister. One of the memorandums applies to military engineering units, and the other to the infantry.
