Speaking on public broadcasters RTVS’ discussion programme on Saturday, Prime Minister Eduard Heger (OLaNO) stated that the reforms the Government is currently trying to push through must not fail. The Cabinet has committed itself to carrying them out in its Manifesto. The premier remarked on this note that if Parliament, including the junior coalition We Are Family party caucus, approved the Government Manifesto and then refused to support the reforms, it would be an in-your-face mockery of the public. According to Heger, the reforms are fully prepared, with the only obstacle in their way being We Are Family’s lack of political will to support them. The premier noted, however, that the reforms are expected by 70 percent of Slovaks; nevertheless, he admitted that the Government has been failing to provide a comprehensive picture of the reforms to the public and concerned institutions. The reforms concern hospital optimisation, a new court map and national parks protection.
Prime Minister Heger cannot imagine proposed reforms failing
