Towns and villages under energy pressure

The Towns and Villages Association (ZMOS) has asked the chairs of the House economy committee and public administration and regional development committee to convene extraordinary sessions on energy charges. Towns and villages in Slovakia are under extreme pressure due to the instability in energy charges and energy supplies. The Association’s office head Michal Kalinak explained that some entities that were providing energy supplies have terminated their business activities. According to him, the towns and villages seeking solutions are reeling from offers from suppliers that are multiple times higher than before.
As Kalinak added, these developments will significantly alter the expenditure sides of budgets, as towns and villages run the preponderance of schools, social sphere and cultural facilities.
