During his term in office, president-elect Andrej Kiska intends to visit Roma settlements on his trips around Slovakia. "Just as I used to go there for years. You'll definitely see me there," said Kiska.
Apart from this, as head of state Kiska plans to seek actively a solution to the Roma problem. "First of all, I'll ask a lot about what has been happening in this area and what has already been achieved. Then I'll be very happy to meet and to initiate round-table talks, where we should together make suggestions and seek solutions. These can then be submitted to the Government," said Kiska. In Košice, Kiska participated in a symposium on risk factors for the health of those living in Roma settlements. He described the Roma problem as one of the toughest in Slovakia and one that causes tensions in society.
