Alena Zsuzsova sentenced to 21 years in prison for ex-mayor's murder

Alena Zsuzsova, who is charged with the murders of investigative journalist Ján Kuciak and his fiancée Martina Kušnírová, has been sentenced in another case. The Supreme Court on Wednesday turned down appeals filed in the case of the premeditated murder of the former mayor of Hurbanovo (Nitra region) Laszlo Basternak. Alena Zsuzsova, who was a mediator for the ordered murder, will thus serve 21 years in prison for her involvement. In addition to the murder of Hurbanovo’s ex-mayor, Zsuzsova has also been charged with the attempted murders of Prosecutor-General Maros Zilinka, Special Prosecutor Daniel Lipsic and prosecutor Peter Sufliarsky.
