More than 40 representatives of the state, civic institutions and the church were rewarded on Wednesday by the Apostolic Nunciature in Bratislava for their work and dedicated efforts during the preparations for Pope Francis' visit to Slovakia in September. The papal medals were handed out by the Apostolic Nuncio Mons. Giacomo Giuda Ottonella, who is the highest representative of the Vatican in Slovakia. The Apostolic Nuncio emphasized the recognition for the high professionalism and unusual dedication shown both by the awardees themselves and by the institutions they represent. "Thank you for your confidential and deep sense of duty and for the civic activities you have done for the apostolic visit of Pope Francis and the Slovak people," the nuncio said, addressing those present at the ceremony.
