Children aged 5 to 11 in Slovakia will be vaccinated in three centres, the Health Ministry decided. These will include The National Institute of Pediatric Diseases in Bratislava, as well as the Martin University Hospital and the Children's University Hospital in Košice. According to the Ministry, only a legal representative can request vaccination. It must be in the case of a child with a high risk of serious damage to health or eventual death in case of overcoming COVID-19. The legal representative of a child for whom COVID-19 disease would represent a very high epidemiological risk for a high-risk child living with him / her in the same household may also request vaccination, the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic stated in the guidelines.
Vaccination will be carried out in the three centers connected to the outpatient clinics for vaccinating at-risk children only on the basis of an appointment via the website www.korona.gov.sk.
