President Čaputová marks World Mental Health Day

Mental problems in a difficult situation can escalate into disorders and require help and treatment, just like physical diseases, Slovak President Zuzana Čaputová emphasised on a social network to mark World Mental Health Day on Sunday. It is not a shame to ask for help if one feels lonely, anxious or depressed. "If you feel anxious, scared or mentally uncomfortable, know that you do not have to deal with this problem by yourselves. Every problem has a solution. It is very important that you are not left alone with such a problem, but confide in someone you trust, an adult in your neighbourhood. Or you can use telephone lines, where they can provide you with professional assistance," stressed Čaputová.

Moreover, on the occasion of World Mental Health Day the Slovak Towns and Cities Union set up the Coalition of Cities and Towns for Mental Health. The initiative came from the union's cooperation with the League for Mental Health. They agreed that caring for the mental health of Slovak inhabitants is one of the key issues that needs to be addressed responsibly.
