Defence Minister to file criminal complaint against two far-right MPs

Defence Minister Jaroslav Naď stated on his social media account that he is set to file a criminal complaint against People's Party Our Slovakia head Marian Kotleba and Independent MP Milan Mazurek, who left the party ranks and joined the extra-parliamentary Republic party. According to Naď, the reason for this step are two videos the MPs have separately released in which they allegedly deliberately spread hoaxes concerning the Mobile Monitoring System for the Protection of Isolated and At-Risk Groups of the Public from the Spread of Viral Diseases (MOVIR). Both MPs called the project the Government's tool for implementing totalitarianism in the country, claiming that a "21st century concentration camp" consisting of mobile sensor devices to monitor the movement of quarantined individuals would be set up in the army's training area.

"I firmly deny these lies and defamation of the Armed Forces," stated Naď, strongly condemning "politics based on fear-mongering". Meanwhile, Mazurek, in his reaction to the minister's announcement, said that he was pleased to see that Naď had opted to file a criminal complaint. "Thanks to this, the whole of Slovakia can learn the truth about this disgusting project. People deserve to know the truth," the MP wrote. Kotleba remarked in this regard that "the right target has been hit as Naď is returning fire", adding that the minister's complaint would not intimidate him.
