The opening week of the World Expo 2020 Dubai, which began on October 1, is dedicated to the topic of climate and biodiversity, and the Slovak Innovation and Energy Agency (SIEA) director-general Peter Blaskovits is set to deliver a speech at a panel discussion focused on green financing on Monday.
"I'm convinced that the climate crisis is an issue that affects us all. The effects of climate change are manifesting themselves more rapidly and intensely now than ever before and pose a real threat to us. It is our duty to do everything within our power and abilities to mitigate these impacts," said Blaskovits. According to the SIEA head, this requires not only a transition to a sustainable and carbon-neutral economy in line with the global energy strategy, but also an associated transparent and efficient green financing strategy.
