New main bus station opened in Bratislava

Bratislava's new main bus station in the area known as Mlynske Nivy was opened on Thursday. Developer HB Reavis on Thursday morning symbolically handed the bus station over to bus transport operator Slovak Lines, which is supposed to operate it for the next 40 years. The station also houses a shopping centre. The first biketower in the Slovak capital will be opened in the Nivy complex as well. "The buses will run in accordance with the valid timetables," said Eva Vozárová, a spokeswoman for Bratislava Integrated Transport system. The first connection from the new terminal on Mlynské nivy was the regular connection to Vienna Schwechat Airport on Thursday at 3.00am. The new station is located underground on the first basement floor of the Nivy complex. It will be open 24 hours a day.
