During the first day of his visit to Greece on Wednesday (September 29), Slovak Prime Minister Eduard Heger (OLaNO) visited locations in the Attica region that were hit by extensive wildfires in the summer which Slovak firefighters helped to put out. Slovakia helped Greece by sending 75 firefighters and 30 fire engines, an unprecedented level of assistance from the country. "Their enormous endeavour didn't go unnoticed by the world media. Feelings of pride and thanks in these places were really strong," stated Heger. However, cooperation between the two countries has not ended with this, as Slovakia is offering Greece help with reforestation as well.
