Foreign Affairs Minister Ivan Korcok (a Freedom and Solidarity/SaS nominee) on Monday congratulated the German social democrats (SPD) and their chancellor candidate Olaf Scholz on their victory in the general election on Sunday (September 26). Korcok at the same time expressed his hope that all the political parties that aim to "take over responsibility" for the German government will manage to reach agreement. He stressed that this is not only in the interests of Germany, but also those of Europe and in particular Slovakia, as Germany is a significant political and trading partner.
