Tourism in Slovakia should return to the pre-pandemic numbers within three years, said General Director of the Slovakia Travel Agecny Václav Mika. This estimation stems from economic calculations which come from the preposition that the pandemic situation will get worse. "However, if the situation allows us to have real products of tourism - winter, summer and an all-year season, it will be sooner," said Mika.
Slovakia Travel is a state budget organization established in April 2021. The agency took over all activities of the tourism section at the Ministry of Transport and Construction of the Slovak Republic to support and develop Slovak tourism and promote Slovakia as an attractive tourist destination abroad. Legislation and state aid remain the responsibility of the Ministry.
