Slovak Foreign Minister asks for political wisdom when approaching further NATO enlargement

Slovak Foreign Affairs Minister Miroslav Lajčák at the To-be-Secure (2BS) security conference in Budva, Montenegro on Friday stated that Slovakia hopes for political wisdom when inviting further countries to join NATO.

Lajčák in his speech said that he believes that NATO membership for countries of the Western Balkans will contribute towards extending the zone of stability and security in Europe. Lajčák described Montenegro as the hottest candidate for NATO membership among all Western-Balkans countries. “Just as we value the political wisdom of those who helped us to join NATO, we hope for political wisdom among all of us now, when we’re considering inviting further countries to join NATO,” said Lajčák.
