At least 90 percent of plastic and metal disposable beverage containers should be returnable as of 2025. This stems from the new goals set in an amendment to the law on returning disposable beverage packaging, which the Government approved at its session on Wednesday. The returning of beverage packaging is set to start on January 1, 2022. The Environment Ministry wants at least 60 percent of plastic and metal packaging to be returned by the end of 2022. The figure should rise to 80 percent by the end of 2023, and to 85 percent by the end of 2024.
