Analysts: Unemployment to decline in coming months

In July, the registered unemployment rate in Slovakia reached 7.66%, representing a month-on-month decline by 0.1 percentage points. According to analysts, this development was expectable and they also predict the downturn to continue. Experts from the National Bank of Slovakia stated that production operators are the most sought-after on the job market, representing 45% of all offered jobs. The second most wanted profession was that of skilled craftsmen.

UniCredit Bank analyst Ľubomír Koršňák said that the good news is that companies are looking for new employees. However, he warns that the unemployment rate will return to the pre-pandemic figures very slowly, most likely not sooner than in the second half of 2023.
