The threat of strike at car-maker Volkswagen Slovakia has been averted, as employee representatives and the plant's leadership struck an accord on pay conditions, announced head of the plant's trade unions Zoroslav Smolinský on Wednesday.
He added that the company fulfilled the requirements of the personnel to some 80-85 percent. Specific numbers will be released in the days to come once a new collective agreement is signed to replace the previous agreement that expired on 31 March. The trade unions called the deal "a moral victory".
