Ex-minister of Interior testifies at police headquarters

Ex-interior minister Robert Kalinak (Smer-SD/2012-18) gave his testimony to the police as a witness at the Bratislava headquarters of the National Crime Agency (NAKA) on Thursday. Kalinak confirmed that his testimony was related to the Purgatory case. He views police findings that a criminal group was operating at the Interior Ministry under his tenure as nonsense. "If there are suspicions of isolated crimes, then those need to be investigated," Kalinak said. The ex-minister maintains that some of the cases are being prosecuted for political reasons. He believes this is evidenced by the fact that high-profile corruption cases involving nominees of the former government are being investigated by NAKA investigators with long years of experience.
