The Public Procurement Office (UVO) has imposed a total of €70,000 in fines on the Administration of State Material Reserves (SSHR) in three cases regarding the purchase of medical items conducted under the previous management of ex-head Kajetan Kicura. Kicura faces charges of the aggravated crime of accepting bribes and money laundering.
According to the Office, the Public Procurement Act was violated multiple times during the purchases. The first contract, concluded on March 12, 2020, was worth almost €325,000 VAT-free, while the second on March 15, 2020 amounted to €11.1 million VAT-free and the third on March 17, 2020 reached almost €18.8 million VAT-free. The Administration of State Material Reserves (SSHR) has accepted the fines imposed on it by the Public Procurement Office (UVO), TASR learnt from the Administration's chair Jan Rudolf on Thursday.
