"I haven't been called in for questioning or been subjected to any action from law-enforcement bodies," said the leader of the extra-parliamentary Voice-SD party and former Prime Minister (2018-2020) Peter Pellegrini at a press conference on Wednesday. In reaction to the alleged testimonies of former head of Financial Administration (the tax office) Frantisek Imrecze and entrepreneur Michal Suchoba about a €150,000 bribe, Pellegrini stated "I've never asked for anything in public office, and I haven't received anything extra." The alleged corruption is in connection with Pellegrini offering political support for a virtual cash register project in 2014 worth €5.5 million, which required a change in legislation. The bribe supposedly went through an intermediary, entrepreneur Miroslav Výboh, and was given to Pelegrini in cash, packed in Cristal champagne boxes by entrepreneur Michal Suchoba. "I won't comment on it because it didn't happen," said the former PM.
