What's happening in Afghanistan is epoch-making, not only for the Middle Eastern country itself but for the entire international community, including Slovakia, chief of Slovak diplomacy Ivan Korcok declared on Tuesday.
"The end of the mission was planned differently," pointed out the minister. "Miscalculations were made regarding the withdrawal of the United States and other allies, including us, particularly with respect to the speed with which the Taliban were able to take power in the country."
Korcok called the capitulation of the Afghan army and government disheartening, adding that sizable financial investments had been poured into the Afghan military in order to enable it to safeguard the country from the Taliban extremists.
