"The trial of former special prosecutor Dušan Kováčik is a political farce," stated the chairman of the opposition Smer-SD and former Prime Minister Robert Fico, who came to Thursday's hearing in the trial as a member of the public. Fico insists that the criminal proceedings are manipulated. On Thursday, the trial of the former special prosecutor continued at the Specialized Criminal Court in Pezinok. Kováčik is charged with the crime of founding, conspiring and supporting a criminal group, the crime of accepting a bribe, the crime of abuse of power by a public official and the offense of endangering a confidential and reserved fact.
