Government earmarks over €5.4 million and up to 1,300 soldiers for Pope's visit

The Government has set aside more than €5.4 million to prepare for Pope Francis' visit to Slovakia in September. The ministers also approved a daily allocation of up to 1,300 members of the Slovak Armed Forces. Subsidies to various entities will be funded out of this total amount - for example, the Slovak Bishops Conference (KBS) will receive €72,000 to ensure the registration of participants, while around €41,000 euros will be allocated for logistic and administrative support. The highest subsidy (almost €487,000) will be given to the Greek Catholic Archbishopric of Presov, primarily to provide security for the liturgy in front of the Presov City Hall.
