The Culture Ministry on Tuesday launched a call for cultural institutions to be founded either by regions or towns and municipalities. This according to culture Minister Natalia Milanova speaking on the same day, who added that €15 million in EU funds has been earmarked for the modernisation or restoration of such institutions, an amount that could be increased to €20 million in the event of great interest and quality projects.
The funds may be used to modernise houses of culture, galleries, libraries and observatories. The minimum amount for the subsidising of libraries and observatories is €30,000, while for other institutions it's €50,000. The maximum possible amount for a subsidy is €200,000.
