Historical automobile enthusiasts will soon be able to enjoy a treat, as almost 120 vintage vehicles dating from the pre-1939 era are to be taken out for a spin at the Hviezdoslavovo Namestie Square in the Bratislava Old Town as part of a race called 1,000 Czechoslovak Miles at the end of this week, TASR learnt on Friday. "On the first day (August 12), race crews will set off on the first leg of the Prague-Bratislava route and race in Slovakia on Friday (August 13)," stated the organisers.
The 1,000 Czechoslovak Miles race has been held with several breaks by vintage car lovers since 1933, under the auspices of the President of the Republic. The glory of the event was revived in 1970 and the race was held annually until 1977. Since 2015, historical automobiles have been on the road every year again.
