The Interior Minister Roman Mikulec (OĽaNO) announced that he evaluates the police's action during Thursday's protest rallies in Bratislava extremely positively. According to the minister, the Police warned the protesters that they should count on the police taking security measures during protests."They were also asked not to break public order or violate their duties stemming from generally binding rules when exercising their right to express the opinion," said Mikulec. As early as on Wednesday (August 4) residents and visitors to Bratislava, who didn't plan to be participants in any of the rallies, were warned to avoid the places of protest. "The police called on Bratislava drivers to expect traffic restrictions close to the places of protests well in advance," stated the minister. The police have detained three protesters in total on Thursday, announced Bratislava's regional police spokesman, Michal Szeiff, adding that they haven't yet pressed charges against anyone. The MP Marek Kotleba, brother of the far-right LSNS party leader Marian Kotleba, is one of the three detained. He is currently facing infringement proceedings.
