Almost half of the people in Slovakia remain rather sceptical about the economic situation in the country over the past twelve months, according to the latest consumer barometer released by the Statistics Office on Monday.
The survey showed that only 13 percent of Slovaks think that the economic situation in their country has improved over the past year, while another 36 percent consider it to be the same as last year. When asked about the future one in five surveyed people said that they think the economic situation in the country will improve over the next year, while about a third of them expect a decline. Only 22 percent of people think that the unemployment rate will go down in the course of the next twelve months while 39 percent stated that an increase will follow.
