According to a press release, Slovak Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs welcomes the holding of the early presidential elections in Ukraine. Despite the blockade of the polling stations in certain districts by armed separatists the Ministry acknowledges the elections as democratic and legitimate.
Taking into account the tense security situation in several Eastern Ukrainian regions, including intimidation, the ministry appreciates the high election turnout that signals interest of the Ukrainians in the future positive development of their country and simultaneously enhances the legitimacy of the elections.
